Gifts: Prayer, Mystery, Salvation, FAITH

International Thanksgiving to God is quarterly celebrated by the Members of Church of God International (MCGI) with the leadership of the Presiding Minister Brother Eliseo F. Soriano in the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga and this last for three consecutive days.
In the first day, two new topics were taught to us then the youth presented their song, same as second and third day. Actually, those three days were very special for me. Even though there’s nothing unique situation happened in those days, I’m contented with the understanding I got from Bro. Eli. I am so blessed because I became part of this great congregation.
The very essence of this event is first, to give thanks to our God Almighty. For all His loving kindness, for the blessings, for the trials we’re in and for all the things He does even if we are not aware. Whether it is good or bad in our perspective, in the end it will be beneficial for us. That’s why we need to thank Him. Next is the listening the words of God. It is very important for us to know, then understand and apply all of the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ in our daily living. The gospel will lead us to salvation.

Three days of thanksgiving is not enough for us, the members of the Church of God. Just thinking on how great our Creator is, makes them to desire to follow Him, to be His lowly servant and to be with Him in eternity.

Shot That!

Pictures were designed for us to be able to capture a moment and make it last. In pictures, we may saw portraits, landscapes or decisive moments. It is something we use to remember a moment.
Last September 20, 2013 we, 2nd year Mass Communication students from MCT -2B in La Verdad Christian College – Caloocan conducted a photo walk with the supervision of Mr. Dominique Meily, a director, photographer and a part time instructor in the said institution in the City of Manila.
We were grouped into five or six groups, and then we’ve started our photo activity with our group leader from Photoville International. First, we went to Intramuros, in Manila wherein you can see many prospect subjects. Even though the place is quite modernized still you can see and feel the Spanish ambiance on the place. Next to that, we went to Rizal Park. In there, we have seen can see a lot of situations. Lovers in the bench, group of students practicing their dance in the ground, vendors and street children everywhere, group of friends strolling around and bonding of families. In the monument of Rizal near in the Roxas Blvd., there were many “Instant Picture Photographers.” They will capture you a picture then you will buy it. That’s their job actually. I’m quite anxious because they were looking in us while we’re taking pictures. After that, our last destination is in Manila Bay. All I can say is, that place seems disregarded and not appreciated. I felt so sad to saw it like that. The sea side is full of garbage and the color of the water is gray which feels like it was already dead. I hope that place will be saved. It gives a very beautiful scenery.
Nevertheless, my classmates and I’ve enjoyed the trip. This photo walk is a great help for us students to develop our creativity and also to apply we have learned in our photography subject. Since the theme was street photography, it is an opportunity for us to communicate with people personally, ask about their living and saw their situation in our own eyes. It also exposed us to real world. If you look beyond on what is the real essence of this photo walk, you will saw the real status of our economy is.

I’ve learned a lot from this out the shell experience. For me, this photo walk is not only about applying what we have learned inside the class such as getting a nice shot, looking for a good angle, using your camera and other technicalities but it taught me more than that. I will never forget such experience not only because it is my first time, but also because every photos that we’ve captured was based on the real situation and real people.  Thanks be to God.

Sun's Shadow

Plato used a lot of symbolisms, metaphors’ and personifications in this piece. The cave symbolize as a place wherein a person’s knowledge and perspective only came from what he saw around and he only know the things or informations which are available. The fire inside the cave mentioned symbolize as the source of information. Literally, we all know that the fire’s light is limited and did not last for long. It just imply that the information in the in the cave is the partial part of the truth. The shadow caused by the fire symbolizes the perspective of the person in the cave.
Once the person inside the cave go outside, he may learn and realize that there’s a lot of things he don’t know. For the reason that outside the cave the source of light (information) is not from the fire but from the sun. Sunlight symbolizes the information which is very clear and not a partial truth, but the whole truth itself.
In my analysis, I can say that this composition requires critical thinking to make you understand and realize what Plato wants to say. Plato’s Allegory of the Cave simply want us to be reminded and realized that we need to get out of the box to discover new things and ideas, also to look beyond our own perspective. This is such a nice piece of writing.

Share your knowledge and ideas to everyone. In this, all of us will be informed. In that way, each and one of us can participate and will be able to help our community.

To Study is a Right and to become a Good Student is a Responsibility (A Scholar's Insight)

                                                                                   https://www.google.com.ph/images
Braniac, responsible, well-disciplined, and a role model – these are some qualities that might comes up to your mind whenever you hear the word "scholar". Literally, scholar means learned or erudite person, esp. one who has profound knowledge on a particular subject. Through unique personalities, distinct characteristics, supreme intelligence and sturdy ideals and beliefs, scholars gain not only other’s respect but also expectations. But what does it really take to become a scholar?
Unlike everyone’s thinking, being a scholar not an easy position. You strive for you best and push yourself even beyond your limits. This might sound exaggerated, for the sake of those people who believes in you and for those who invest in you, you are obliged to live in their expectations.
Pressure is the number one enemy of a scholar. Moreover, stress is the sister of pressure. Scholars were expected of something that they need to become yet some of them want the opposite. The word scholar was followed by the word excellence. With this, all of the things you do should be the best because all the eyes were at you.

But still, no matter how hard it is, being Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel’s scholar is a rare opportunity that should not be taken for granted. God gave everyone a chance to study despite of their financial incapability through La Verdad Christian College. The right of being a scholar has a responsibility and every chance given has expectations. Being a scholar is a chance and it was an expectation that they will thank God for this through being the best.

Pagtaas ng presyo ng bigas, pa-iimbestigahan

                                                                                                         https://www.google.com.ph
